Solving the Problem
1. The problem that I am focused on solving is - razors not being durable (become dull and dirty very easily). My hypothesis for this opportunity/problem was that people who shave have an issue with the durability of razors because the razors become dull and dirty easily and quickly.
2. To solve this issue, instead of developing a more durable and easy to clean razor, I plan to design a product that effectively sharpens the blades and cleans them at the same time. The hope is that with this product, people will much less frequently need new razors and can save money by refurbishing their used ones. The product will resemble a case with a port to insert the razor, when the razor is attached, there will be a whetstone tipped device (good for sharpening knives) that slides across the blades and sharpens them. Because this would be automatic (so the user can have this running whenever they need it) it would be plugged into the wall - to avoid having to constantly buy batteries for it. After the sharpening process is complete, there will be a pressure wash system that goes over the blades to remove any residue, hair or anything else stuck in the blades. Whetstone is cheap and the technology is not very complex, therefore this product can likely be marketed at an affordable price. The product will be marketed toward both men and women as a common household product.
Hi Marcus, great post! I think that your solution for a product that cleans and sharpens blades at the same time is both original and effective. Most people would just think to improve the quality of razors, but I appreciate that you have come up with a product that does not currently exist. I also think that all the details you provided about the product show that you have really thought through your solution.
ReplyDeleteHey Marcus,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your post. I agree that the traditional razor can become dirty, dull or even rusty at times. I was also interested in your pitch for a product that can solve the issue of dirty razors. The innovation could possibly be a breakthrough of the struggles with shaving with a razor. If this product was real, there would be no need to replace the razor.
Hey Marcus, Loved your solution i, think it is great. Developing a new razor would take more time and compete with the more durable very expensive razors already on the market. How ever you solution I could still use my regular smelgualr razors but just sharpen and clean them.
